Our shop is over in Ahmednagar, tucked away in the Kedgaon area within the Co-operative Industrial Society. We are right near the Tata Ace showroom, so that’s a good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time. The industrial estate is always full of the sound of grinding metal and engines revving up. We mostly deal with mechanical parts and fixing whatever comes through the door. The floor is stained with years of grease and oil, and there are tools scattered across the workbenches in a way that only we understand. It might look messy to someone else, but we know exactly where the 10mm wrench is. We spend most of our time bent over engines or looking under chassis. The sun hits the metal roof in the afternoon and makes it pretty warm inside, so we usually have a few big fans blowing all the time. We don't spend much time in the small office area because there's always something to do out on the floor. It’s a local operation and we know most of the people who work in the neighboring units. We share tools sometimes or help each other move heavy stuff when needed. It’s just regular work for regular people. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just show up, do the repairs, and head home when the sun goes down.
