A. S. Stonecursher

We’ve been here at Baraskar Complex for a while now. It's right near Bolhegaon Phata in the MIDC area. If you know where the Central Bank of India is, you've probably seen our sign. Working with stone is heavy work. Most days are dusty and loud. We just get on with the jobs people give us. The yard is usually busy with trucks coming and going. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with the traffic around the bank, but that's just how it is in this part of town. We don't have a fancy office. It’s mostly just us out there handling the material. People stop by when they need stuff for building or fixing roads. We try to keep things moving. A. S. Stonecursher isn't a big operation with lots of secretaries. It’s just a few of us making sure the crushers are running right. If the machines break, we fix them. If a customer needs a load, we load it. It’s simple like that. We've seen the neighborhood change over the years. The MIDC has grown quite a bit. But we're still here in the same spot. It’s honest work, even if it gets a bit messy. We don't spend time on fancy talk. We just focus on the stone and the daily schedule. We start early when the air is still a bit cool. By noon, the dust is everywhere. You get used to the grit. We just do our part.
