Our spot is over at Cm -14 in the G.I.D.C. Estate. Most people just tell visitors we are near the Telephone Exchange in Naroda because it's a big landmark that everyone knows. Being in an industrial estate means there is always something going on nearby. You can hear trucks idling and machines humming from the neighbors all day long. Zen Air Tech Pvt Ltd has been in this unit for a while. It’s a solid space, though it gets quite hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the metal roof. We usually leave the big doors open to get a breeze through. Inside, it's mostly workbenches and shelving. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If someone drops by, they usually just find one of us on the floor and we talk right there. There are stacks of papers on the desks that never seem to go away, and the floor has its share of scuffs and oil marks. It’s a working environment, plain and simple. We like being in Naroda because everything we need is pretty close by. The estate has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it over the years. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever comes through the door each morning. It's a lot of repetitive work, but we don't mind it.
