We are based over in Bapunagar at the Gujarat Housing Board. Our specific spot is Block No. 761, in Room No. 5117. It is a bit of a maze in these housing board buildings if you aren't used to them. The room is small, but we have crammed in all the computers and wires we need to do our work. Ahmedabad gets really hot in the summer, so the room can get a bit stuffy, but we have the fans going all day. Bapunagar is a crowded, lively neighborhood with lots of street food and people everywhere. You can hear the sounds of the local market from our window. Most of the people working here are young and like to joke around while they type. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If someone comes to see us, they just knock on the door of 5117. We have been here for a while and the walls are covered with notes and calendars. It is the kind of place where you know your neighbors and the guy selling snacks downstairs. We do tech work, but the office feels more like a workshop. It is simple and a bit messy, but it works for us. Living and working in the housing board means you are part of the real Ahmedabad. We just show up, do the coding or whatever is on the list, and then head home through the busy streets.
