Versatile Arts General Stores

Versatile Arts General Stores sits in a corner of Ahmedabad, in the 380001 area code. Despite the name, we are a general store that carries a lot of different things for the home. We’ve got kitchen supplies, cleaning products, and sometimes a few craft items too. It’s a bit of a jumble inside. We don’t have professional decorators or anything like that. We just put things where they fit. Sometimes the shelves are a bit crooked, but they hold the weight well enough. The shop has a certain smell to it—a mix of spices and laundry soap. It’s a smell we’ve grown to like over the years. We spend a lot of time talking to whoever comes in. Some people stay for ten minutes just to tell us about their day. We don't mind. It makes the day go by faster. We aren't interested in being a huge corporation. We just want to keep the doors open and provide the essentials. The street outside is usually noisy with scooters and cars honking, but inside it's a bit more relaxed. We don't have a fancy sign outside, just the name painted above the door. It’s faded a bit from the sun, but people still find us. We don't have any big plans for expansion. We’re just happy being where we are and doing what we know how to do. It’s a simple business for simple needs.
