U N Mehta Institute Of Cardiology & Research Centre is located inside the huge Civil Hospital campus over in Asarwa. It’s a big place and it can be a bit confusing to find your way around if you aren't used to it. Ahmedabad is a big city and this part of it, Asarwa, is always packed with people coming from all over the state. Being a cardiology and research centre, we deal with a lot of heart stuff every single day. There are doctors, researchers, and students walking around in white coats everywhere you look. It’s not just a clinic; it’s a whole institute, so there is a lot of equipment and big machines for the heart. The building feels very busy, almost like a small city on its own. People are often sitting on the benches outside or waiting in the long hallways for their turn. It’s a serious place because heart problems are serious, but it’s also just a workplace for many of us. We see hundreds of faces every day. The morning starts early here, often before the sun is fully up, with people lining up. It’s a lot of walking because the campus is so spread out. We focus on the work at hand and trying to help the people who travel long distances to get here. It’s just how things are at a big institute like this.
