The Freight Center

If you are looking for The Freight Center, you’ll find us at Jadav Flat in the Mithakali area. We are right opposite Induben Kakrawala, which is a landmark most people in Navrangpura know well. Being near Sardar Patel Seva Smaj Road means we are in a fairly active part of the neighborhood. Our setup is pretty basic. It’s an older flat that we’ve converted into a workspace. It feels more like a home than a corporate office, which is fine by us. We’ve got some mismatched chairs and a lot of filing boxes stacked up against the walls. The work we do involves a lot of waiting for calls and then moving fast when things finally get cleared. It can be stressful, but we’ve got a good group here who handles it well. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. Usually, someone will just look up from their computer and say hello when you walk in. We spend our days staring at screens and talking to drivers or warehouse people. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps the lights on. Sometimes we get distracted by the smells from the snack shop across the street. It’s a local way of doing business where everyone knows the shortcuts around the traffic. We’ve been here long enough to feel like part of the furniture. Just plain folks doing our jobs and getting through the day. Sometimes we stay late to finish the logs and clear off the desks.
