Surmaya Eye Clinic

Our eye clinic is tucked away in Shalibhadra Society, specifically at 1/B, which is right near the Dhanjibhai Complex. We’re close to the Naranpura Cross Road in Usmanpura, so it’s easy for most people in this part of town to reach us. The clinic is basically a converted space that works well for checking people's vision. We have the charts on the wall and the machine for testing eyes near the window. It’s a quiet neighborhood for the most part, though you get the usual traffic noise from the crossroad nearby. People come in when they realize they can't read the newspaper as well as they used to or when their kids need glasses for school. We spend a lot of time helping people pick out frames that don't look too bad on them. The drawers are full of different styles, and sometimes it takes a while for someone to decide. We don't rush them because they’re the ones who have to wear them every day. The staff here is small, just a few of us who have been together for quite a while. We know most of the people living in the society by name. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, and we usually have a radio playing softly in the background. We keep things pretty simple here, focusing on making sure people can see clearly without making a big production out of it.
