Sona Art is located at shop number 11 in the Good Luck Barrel Market. We are right in the Danilimda area, sitting opposite the Chandola Talav and very close to the Aksha Masjid. It is a very busy part of town, and there is always something going on outside our door. The shop itself is packed with materials and half-finished pieces. We have been in this location for a long time, and we’ve seen the market change a lot over the years. We do a lot of traditional artistic work that requires a lot of hand-eye coordination and patience. It’s not the kind of stuff you can just rush through. The air in the shop is often thick with the smell of paint or whatever materials we are using that day. We don’t have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Most of our work is sitting on shelves or leaning against the walls. People from the neighborhood often stop by just to see what we are working on or to have a quick chat. It’s a loud place to work with the traffic from the main road and the calls from the Masjid, but it feels like home to us. We try to be honest about how long a piece will take, because we won't compromise on the time it needs. Our hands are usually stained with ink or paint by the end of the day, but that’s just part of being at Sona Art. It's a humble living.
