Retired

I live over in the Paldi area of Ahmedabad, specifically in Jitendraparksociety. It's near the Vishvakunj Cross Road. My address is number 29. Since I’ve retired, I spend my time mostly at home or visiting the nearby shops on Narayannagar Road. Ahmedabad is a busy city, but this little pocket of Gujarat feels a bit more settled. I don’t have an office or a company to manage these days. My work years are behind me now. I wake up, have my tea, and see what the day brings. Sometimes I help out with things in the society or just go for a walk when the weather isn't too hot. The traffic near the cross road can get loud, but you get used to it. I’ve lived here for quite some time. It's a comfortable spot. I don't have a mission statement or anything like that. Just a retired person living a normal life. I spend time with family and sometimes catch up with old colleagues who are also retired. We talk about the old days, but mostly we talk about our grandkids or the local news. It’s a plain, simple existence. No fancy titles anymore. Just me at my house in Jitendrapark, enjoying the slower pace of things in this part of town. It is nice to not have to worry about the daily grind after so many years of working hard for a living.
