Sigma Mahila Audyogic Mfgr'S Co-Op Soc Ltd is based at 27/B, Sumir Vihur Society, right behind the Agro Petrol Pump on Sarkhej Road. We are a cooperative, so things work a bit differently here than in a regular company. It’s mostly women from the local area who come in to work on different manufacturing tasks. The space is often full of talk and the sounds of work being done. It can be a bit crowded because we try to fit a lot of equipment into the room we have. We started this because we wanted a place where we could work together and earn a bit of money. We make various items depending on what orders we can get. It is not a high-tech facility, just a lot of manual labor and shared effort. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a big batch, and other times it’s a bit quieter. Being near the petrol pump makes it easy to give directions to people who are looking for us. We aren't trying to be some massive factory. We just want to keep the cooperative going so everyone has a job to come to. It’s a lot of responsibility to keep things organized, but we manage by helping each other out. We take things one day at a time and do what is needed to finish the work.
