Our place is at 72/B Ravi Nagar, in Sector 2 of Jivraj Park. Shree Umiya Decorators And Caterers is basically a family effort. We handle the food and the setup for all sorts of events around here. One day we might be putting up a mandap and the next we are focused on making a big batch of undhiyu. It is a lot of physical work, moving heavy poles and carrying large catering trays. We do not have a fancy showroom. If you want to talk to us, you just come by the house in Ravi Nagar. We usually have some samples of fabrics or photos of past setups lying around. The kitchen part is managed by a couple of cooks who have been working with us for a long time. They know exactly how much salt goes into a fifty-kilo bag of rice. It is not an exact science, just something they have learned over the years. Sometimes we run into issues with the weather when we are setting up outdoors, which can be a real headache. But you just have to figure it out and keep going. We are not trying to be the biggest company in the city. We just want to do a decent job for the people in Jivraj Park so they keep coming back to us. It keeps the lights on and our hands busy, which is enough for us.
