Rupam Handicraft

Rupam Handicraft is located at No. 58 in the Purni Housing Society, which sits right on Gita Mandir Road. We are quite near the Chhipa Kabristan, so it is a very specific part of the neighborhood that most locals know well. Being in a housing society means the shop has a bit more of a residential feel than a typical commercial market. We see the same neighbors every day, and there is a lot of local chatter around the entrance. Gita Mandir Road is always busy with traffic and people heading towards the bus station or the temple. Our shop is a small, honest space where we work on our handicrafts daily. It is often a bit messy with bits of thread or wood shavings, depending on what we are making at the time. We don't have any fancy signs or big displays. Most people find us because they live nearby or have heard about us from someone else in the society. The proximity to the Kabristan means it can be a bit quiet at times, which we don't mind because it lets us concentrate on the details of our work. We usually have a pot of tea going and the door open to catch a breeze. It is just a simple, local business where we spend our time making things by hand and watching the life of Gita Mandir Road go by from our front step.
