Shantikunj in Paldi is a relatively quiet spot compared to the main roads, and that is where we run Phonenix Petrochemicals Pvt. Ltd. Our setup is pretty straightforward; we have an office area and some storage space for the drums and containers we handle. Dealing with petrochemicals means we have to be careful with the documents and making sure everything is labeled exactly right. It isn't a big flashy corporate office; it feels more like a lived-in space with old wooden desks and cabinets that have been there for years. We spend a lot of time on the phone, talking to suppliers and checking on where the trucks are. Paldi traffic can be a nightmare, so we are always worried about deliveries being late. We just try to keep things organized so we don't lose track of the orders. Sometimes the smell of chemicals lingers a bit, but we are so used to it that we don’t even notice anymore. It is just us doing our thing, day in and day out, without much fuss. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, and we watch the neighborhood go by while we drink our morning tea. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the ledgers and the shipping manifests to worry about that. It’s a lot of mundane tasks but someone has to stay on top of it.
