Shree Ganesh Wood Works

Our workshop is located over at Plot No. 4 in Phase-1 of the GIDC in Vatva. If you know the industrial area here, you know it’s always humming with activity. We’ve got our wood works set up in a space that’s seen a lot of use over the years. There is usually a layer of sawdust on everything, no matter how much we try to sweep it up at the end of the day. We spend our hours cutting, sanding, and putting things together. It’s noisy and the smell of fresh cut wood is always heavy in the air, which I guess is better than the smell of chemicals you get in other parts of the GIDC. People come to us when they need something made out of wood that’s solid and does the job. We don’t have a big marketing team or a fancy website. It’s just a few of us here making sure the orders get finished on time. Sometimes the machines act up or the wood isn't exactly what we expected, but we figure it out as we go. The tea stall down the road is where we usually take our breaks. It’s a simple life, really. We open up early when it’s still a bit cool and stay until the work is done. It’s a local business through and through, and we’ve been part of the Vatva landscape for quite some time now. We just focus on the craft.
