You can find us right on G.T. Road in the Shiv Nagar area of Gopiganj. This part of the country is famous for rugs, and we are just one of the many shops trying to keep the tradition going. Persian Carpet Rug Industires has stacks of carpets everywhere you look. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough floor space to show everything off. We spend our days unrolling rugs for people to look at and then rolling them back up again. It’s heavy work, but the patterns are nice to look at. The air in here usually smells a bit like wool and dyes. Gopiganj is a busy town, especially with all the traffic on G.T. Road. We get people stopping by who are just passing through and others who have traveled specifically to find a certain kind of weave. We aren't a big corporate showroom. It’s more like a warehouse where we keep the stock we’ve gathered. We talk to the weavers and handle the shipping and try to keep things moving. Some of the rugs have been sitting for a while, waiting for the right person to notice them. It’s a slow business in some ways, but it’s what we know. If you walk in, you’ll probably find us moving a few piles around to make a path. It’s just the way it goes with rugs. We stay open late most days just in case someone stops by.
