Patel Art is up on the first floor of the Kapad Market in Bapu Nagar. We are at shop number 37. If you are coming along National Highway Number 8, we are right opposite Satadhar Nagar. Bapu Nagar is a really lively area, especially the Kapad Market. It can get quite loud with all the traders and shoppers, but once you come up to the first floor, it’s a little bit better. We have been doing our work here for quite some time. This isn't a corporate office with glass walls; it’s a workshop where we actually get our hands dirty. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step. We deal with various kinds of art and sign work. It’s a practical space filled with tools and materials. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is working. Sometimes the floor is covered in scraps and the smell of paint or glue is strong, but that's just part of the job. Most of our work comes from other businesses in the market or people living in Satadhar Nagar. We don't have a big mission statement. We just try to finish the orders on time and make sure they look right. It’s a humble business run by people who enjoy making things. It is not always perfect but we stay busy.
