Textile Colour Chemical (Exports) is situated in the Shaffali Centre. We occupy units 104 and 208. The building is near Paldi Char Rasta, which is one of the busiest spots in the Paldi area of Ahmedabad. If you look out the window, you can see the constant stream of rickshaws and cars. We spend our time surrounded by color charts and chemical samples. Our business is mostly about getting the right shades for fabrics. We deal with a lot of exports, so there is a heap of paperwork involving shipping labels and customs documents. The office is often full of small jars and packets of dyes. It’s not a very quiet place because someone is always on the phone talking to a mill or a shipping agent. We have been in Paldi for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Despite being an export firm, we keep things very grounded. We don’t have a fancy reception desk. Usually, you just walk in and find us working at our desks or checking a sample against a light box. Our team is small, but we know the textile business inside out. We focus on the tiny details of every batch. It’s a lot of repetition, but it’s what we do. We like being in Shaffali Centre because it’s central and everyone knows where it is. We just keep working until the sun goes down.
