Pacetex

Pacetex is over at 19, Indl. Estate. It’s a straightforward setup. We have our floor space where the production happens and a small area for the office work. The industrial estate is a practical place to be, even if it isn't the prettiest part of town. We spend a lot of time looking at textiles and making sure the machines are running at the right speed. It can get quite hot in the middle of the day, but we have some fans that keep the air moving a bit. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just go by what needs to be done each morning. Most of us have been here for years, so we don't need to talk much to know who is doing what. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have a lot of fabric coming in at once, but we always manage to sort it out. It’s a hands-on kind of place. You won't find anyone in a tie here. We are usually busy checking the weave or packing up rolls for delivery. It’s just regular people doing a regular job. We’ve had our ups and downs like any other business, but we keep the lights on and the machines hum along. That’s enough for us. Dealing with customers is usually just a matter of showing them the fabric and talking about the price. No big presentations here. We just work.
