Nilam Mistry

I’m Nilam Mistry and I’ve been over at D-25 in the Navkar Flats for a long time. It’s right on Vejalpur Road in Ahmedabad, basically opposite where the Times of India press is. Everyone in this area knows that landmark, so it makes finding us a little bit easier for people who aren’t from around here. The flat itself is pretty basic. It’s on a busy enough road, so there’s always the sound of traffic in the background, especially during the rush hour. We don’t have any big signs or anything. It’s just a place where we sit down and get our work done every day. Some days are slow and we just tidy things up, and other days it feels like we can’t catch a break. The weather in Ahmedabad can be really tough, especially when it’s 45 degrees outside, so we mostly stay indoors and keep the coolers running. We aren't a big company with hundreds of employees. It's just a small group of us handling things. We don't go in for fancy talk or trying to impress anyone. We just do the tasks that come in and try to be honest about how long things take. Sometimes the elevators in the building are a bit slow, or the parking downstairs is a mess, but that’s just how it is. We’re just regular people working out of a regular flat on the road.
