If you know Paldi, you probably know the Suvidha Cross Road. We are right there at Mahalaxmi Shopping Centre, unit number 1. It’s a convenient spot, even if the parking gets a bit tight during the peak hours. Our shop is a traditional pedhi, which basically means we do things the old-fashioned way. We sit, we talk to our visitors, and we handle the accounts manually for the most part. It’s a family-run kind of thing. You’ll usually find one of us behind the desk surrounded by stacks of ledgers and the occasional cup of tea. We stay away from those modern open-plan offices where nobody knows who is in charge. Here, you walk in and you see the whole operation right in front of you. We’ve been at this address for a long time. The shopping centre has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and it feels like home. We deal with various trading activities, mostly local stuff that keeps the neighborhood running. It’s not about being the biggest; it’s about being steady. We close for lunch like everyone else around here, and we like to take our time with people. If someone comes in with a question, we try to help them out even if it’s not exactly our area. It’s just how things are done in this part of Ahmedabad. It’s a friendly place with a lot of history in these walls.
