Our place is G-1 in the Vaishali Complex. It’s right across from the Pariseema building on C.G. Road in Navrangpura. Being on such a busy road means there is always something going on outside. The complex itself has been here for a long time. Inside the shop, it’s a bit quieter than the street. We spend our time looking at small details and working with different pieces. The lighting has to be just right for what we do, so we have a few extra lamps around. Sometimes people come in just to look, and that’s fine. We’ve got a small counter and some chairs for when folks want to sit and talk about what they are looking for. It’s not a huge space, but we make it work. The glass on the display cases needs cleaning almost every day because of the dust from the road. C.G. Road is always changing, with new shops opening and closing, but we’ve stayed put in this corner of the complex. We usually get in early before the traffic gets really bad. It’s a decent spot to be in. We don't go for big flashy displays or loud music. It’s just us doing the work we’ve been doing for years. Most of our day is spent at the benches in the back. It’s a steady kind of life here in Navrangpura and we are used to the rhythm of the neighborhood.
