Our place is at 69/35, Royapettah High Road, which is basically a non-stop stream of traffic and people throughout the day. Modfurn Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd. has been sitting on this stretch for quite some time now. If you’ve ever walked down Royapettah High Road, you know how loud it gets with all the horns and the buses passing by. Inside, it’s a different kind of noise—mostly the sound of metal and parts being moved around. We don't really do the whole showroom vibe with bright lights and fancy salesmen. It’s more of a practical workspace where we focus on getting the systems built right. The floor is usually covered in some kind of dust or metal shavings, and there’s always a pile of frames waiting to be finished. We have some old fans that move the air around, which helps during those really humid afternoons. The staff here aren't dressed in suits; they’re in work clothes that usually have a few grease stains on them. It’s just the way it is when you’re working with furniture systems all day. We spend a lot of time on our feet, going between the back workshop and the small office space near the front door. It’s not a glamorous spot, but it’s right in the heart of the city and it works for us. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep up with the daily schedule without making a big fuss about it.
