If you head over to Nadiad in Gujarat, you’ll find our setup for Modern Road Makers Pvt. Ltd. We’ve been based in the 387 380 area for some time. It’s a decent place to run a business because it connects well to the surrounding districts. We mainly focus on the physical side of road building, so you’ll find more boots and tools around here than suits or ties. The office is really just for keeping the books straight and making sure everyone gets paid on time. Most of our day is spent out on the roads under the sun. It can get pretty hot in Gujarat, but that’s just part of the life we chose. We don’t really have a big marketing department or anything like that. Most people hear about us through word of mouth or by seeing our trucks parked near a construction site. We try to keep things simple. If a road needs fixing or a new one needs to be laid, we figure out the best way to do it with the machines we have. It’s a straightforward business, really. We’ve got a small team, but everyone knows their job and we’ve lived in this area long enough to know the local shortcuts. It isn't a glamorous life, but it's what we know how to do well. There is always a lot of dust and noise, but that just means work is getting finished.
