Mk Farmers Market

You can find us over at the old Calico Mills area. It’s a place with a lot of history, though these days it feels quite different than it used to be. Working at Mk Farmers Market means being up before the sun most days. There is a lot of movement here, with crates being moved and people coming in and out constantly. It’s not the cleanest or quietest spot, but it’s where the work happens. We spend a lot of time just managing the day-to-day flow of things. The space in Calico Mills has its quirks, like the way the light hits the dusty floors in the afternoon. We don’t really do fancy office stuff. Most of our time is spent on our feet or sitting at a worn-out wooden desk. It gets hot in the summer, but we’ve got a couple of old fans that do the trick well enough. People know us as the lot that stays busy. We’ve been part of this landscape for a while now, and we’ve seen the surroundings change as the city grows around the old mill grounds. Sometimes the trucks get backed up at the entrance, and it gets a bit chaotic. That’s just part of life here. We don’t mind it much. It’s just how the market runs. We focus on the tasks right in front of us and try to get home before it gets too late.
