Mjs Iqbal & Company

Our shop is down on 7/13, Periana Maisbay Street. It’s a narrow lane and things can get pretty tight when the delivery vans are trying to squeeze through. Mjs Iqbal & Company has been a part of this street for a long time. We know all the neighbors, from the tailor across the way to the little food stall on the corner. The office isn't very large, so we’ve learned how to stack things high and keep the aisles clear. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when the breeze stops, so we keep the fans going all day. There’s always a bit of chatter going on, whether it's about the morning news or just what’s for lunch. We don’t have a website with flashy pictures or anything like that. People mostly find us because they know the name or they’ve walked past the sign on the street. It’s a practical way of doing things. We handle our orders, keep our records in big ledgers, and try to keep everyone happy. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to actually hear the street noise. It’s just us doing what we’ve always done at 7/13. We don't worry about being the biggest or the most modern. We just want to do the work right and be here again tomorrow. It stays interesting enough for all of us.
