You can find Milan Dj at the Shiv Shakti Complex in Bapunagar. We are in shop number C/12. If you are coming down Bapunagar Road, look for Murlidhar Ice-Cream because we are right near it. People often stop for a treat there and then wander over to see us. The shop is filled with speakers and cables most of the time. It is a bit cramped because of all the equipment we have to store. We are local people and this is where we manage all the music setups. Ahmedabad has a lot of festivals and weddings so we stay very busy. The complex is an older building but it works for us. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, someone is just testing a sound system or fixing a wire when you walk in. It’s a loud place sometimes but that’s the nature of the work. We like being in Bapunagar because it’s a lively neighborhood with lots of shops. Our neighbors know us well. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. It’s just a small shop but it’s the heart of what we do. If we are not in the shop, we are probably out at a venue setting things up. We try to keep the gear in good shape. It’s a basic setup but it’s ours. The walls are a bit thin so we hear the street noise all day. We keep a stash of spare bulbs and batteries in the back corner. It’s a real working shop, not a showroom for pictures.
