Mehta Cad Systems Pvt. Ltd. is located in Sumel Complex, specifically units 4 and 5. We are right opposite the GNFC Info Tower on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Road, which everyone just calls SG Road. It’s a very busy part of Ahmedabad, so there is always noise from the highway coming through the windows. Our office is filled with computer screens and some of the larger CAD hardware that we deal with. It isn’t the most modern-looking place inside, as we have a lot of manuals and cables scattered around the workstations. We spend a lot of time looking at technical drawings and helping people figure out their system setups. The Sumel Complex has a lot of other businesses too, so there is always someone walking past the glass front. During the monsoon, the road outside can get a bit messy, but that is just part of being on SG Road. We keep a small pantry in the back where we make tea, which is pretty much the fuel for the whole office. It’s a lot of sitting and clicking and talking on the phones, trying to explain how a piece of software or a machine is supposed to behave. We don’t really do anything fancy for visitors, just pull up a chair if there is one free. It’s just a group of us working through the technical stuff every day until it’s time to head home in the traffic.
