Our place is tucked away in the Amikrupa Housing Complex. If you know where Shreyas Tekra is in Ambavadi, we aren’t far from there. Mehta Cad Cam Systems is basically run out of a few rooms here. It’s a bit of a maze finding D-1/M-3 if it’s your first time visiting. The stairs are narrow and we always tell people to watch their step. Inside, there are computers everywhere and some parts of machines lying around on the tables. It’s not the quietest office because someone is always testing something or talking loudly over the phone. We’ve been in Ahmedabad for years. The neighborhood has changed a lot, but this complex stays the same. We have a small pantry where we make coffee, though the stove is a bit finicky. Most of us have been working together for a long time so we don’t really need formal meetings. We just shout across the room if something needs fixing. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit on the balcony for a bit. It’s a practical setup. We don’t have fancy glass walls or a receptionist. Just a bunch of people trying to get the technical stuff right. It’s a busy life, but it suits us well enough. We keep the doors open when the weather is nice, even if the dust comes in.
