If you go deep into the old city to Dariapur, you’ll find Mayank Travels at 1083, Kikabhatt Ni Pole. This is a place where the lanes are narrow and history is everywhere. We’ve been operating from this little spot for years. It’s not a big corporate travel office with flickering screens. It’s just a small room where we handle bookings and talk to people about their trips. Most of our day is spent on the phone or writing down details in our ledgers. Whether someone needs a car for a wedding or a bus ticket to another town, we try to get it sorted out for them. Parking around here is a nightmare, so we usually meet our drivers out on the main road. The pole is a quiet community where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have a couple of old chairs for customers to sit on while we check the availability of vehicles. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a small fan that keeps the air moving. We don't do much advertising; the people in Dariapur just know where we are. It’s a simple life, helping folks get from one place to another. Sometimes things go wrong with the traffic or a breakdown, and we have to scramble to fix it. That’s just the nature of travel. We’ve stayed in this same spot because it’s home and it works for us.
