We are located in the G-6 unit of the Moti Manek Complex. It’s right on M. G. Haveli Road in Manek Chowk, which is one of the busiest parts of the city. If you’ve ever been to Manek Chowk, you know how crowded it gets with all the shoppers and the food stalls at night. Our shop is right near the Hanuman Mandir. The sound of the temple bells is part of our daily background noise. At Ankur Imitation Jewellery, we spend our hours looking at small pieces and setting stones. It’s detailed work and can be a bit hard on the eyes, so we have some bright lights over the counters. The complex itself is always full of people looking for bargains. Our space is small, but we’ve managed to fit a lot of stock into the cabinets. We don't have fancy displays like the big malls. It’s more about the variety we have tucked away in the drawers. The air conditioning in the complex works okay, but on really hot days, we still keep a small fan on the desk. Working in Manek Chowk means you’re in the heart of the trade. We know the other shopkeepers and we all help each other out when needed. It’s a lively place to be every day. We just open up, clean the glass, and wait for the day's visitors to come by. It is a tight squeeze but we like it.
