Lalasa Engineers

People around Rakhial know this part of the Gujarat Bottling Industrial Compound pretty well. We’ve been set up here at Plot No -42/8 in Pushpak Estate for quite a while now. It’s an industrial area, so there is always noise and trucks moving around. Mostly we handle engineering jobs that come our way from other small units nearby. It gets pretty greasy in the workshop and the heat from the machines is a lot during the summer months. We don't have a big office or anything fancy like that. Just some desks and the tools we need to get the work done. A lot of the guys have been working here for years and they know the machines inside out. Sometimes things break down and we have to stay late to fix them so the customer can get their order on time. It’s not always easy but it is what we do. We mostly deal with iron and steel parts, doing some turning or milling. You won’t find any shiny brochures here. Just people in overalls trying to make a living. The area gets a bit crowded during the shift changes and parking a scooter can be a real pain some days. We just keep our heads down and focus on the drawings people bring in. If we can make it, we tell them. If we can't, we say that too. Honest work is how we stay in business in this estate.
