Kumar Prakashan

Our place is at Plot No- 9 along Ashram Road. It is quite close to the engineering college, so we see a lot of students passing by all day long. Kumar Prakashan isn't a very large operation, just a regular building where we handle our publishing work. The road outside can get pretty dusty, especially when there is a lot of construction happening nearby. Inside, it smells like ink and old paper, which is something you just get used to after a week or two. We have a few desks and a lot of shelving that we built ourselves to hold the stock. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or so, and we just sit by the window and wait for it to come back on. It is not the most modern space, but it serves its purpose for what we do. Dealing with the college crowd means we have busy seasons where everyone wants something at the exact same time. We try to keep up, though it gets a bit hectic. My desk is usually covered in proofs and loose sheets of paper that I need to sort through. There is a small tea stall just down the road that we go to when we need a break from the noise of the machines. It is just a normal, everyday business where we put in our hours and go home. We don't have fancy signs or anything, just the work we do at the plot every day.
