Kaypee Art is situated at shop number 8 in the Ambica Cloth Market No 1. We are in Munshi Gali, right in the Kalupur Kotni Rang area. If you know Kalupur, you know it’s one of the busiest places you can find. There are people and goods moving everywhere at all hours. Our shop is right in the middle of all that cloth market energy. We do various types of art and design work here. The space is small, which is typical for the market, so we have to be smart about how we use it. It’s often quite noisy outside with the vendors and the porters, but we’ve learned to tune it out. We don't have a fancy office or a place for people to sit and wait. Most of our customers are from the market or the surrounding streets. They know where we are and what we do. We don't really advertise; people just find us by walking through the gali. Some days it’s hard to even get through the crowd to our door. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, based on being where the action is. We’ve been here for years and we’ve seen the market change, but Kaypee Art stays pretty much the same. We just keep working on our projects and helping out the local traders with whatever they need. It’s a hectic but good way to work. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else really. It keeps us on our toes all day.
