Kartik Academy

You can find Kartik Academy over in Shahibaug, inside Sukan Mall. We’re on the fourth floor at office number one. It’s right near Rajasthan Hospital and Camp Road, which is a very busy intersection in Ahmedabad. There is always something happening outside. Being on the fourth floor gives us a bit of a view, but mostly we are just looking at the rooftops and the hospital across the way. The mall can be a bit quiet in the mornings, but it picks up later on. We have been here for a good amount of time. The rooms are basic with enough space for the kids to sit. We don't have a big reception or fancy lights. Just some tubes and a couple of fans. Sometimes the elevator in the mall takes a while, so we just wait or take the stairs if we’re in a rush. It’s a lot of steps though. Most of our day is spent at the desks, going through papers and talking to parents who stop by. We try to keep the place organized, but with so many books it's hard. The local tea guy knows our order by now. It’s just a regular local academy. People from around Shahibaug come here because it’s close to home. We like the neighborhood even with all the traffic noise from Camp Road. It feels like a real part of the city here. We usually close up late.
