You can find us at unit 319 in the Gujarat Vepari Mahamandal area over in Odhav. It’s a massive industrial estate, and we’re right in the middle of it all. We make snacks and sweets, which means the place usually smells like fried dough or sugar, depending on what we are doing that day. It’s a family-style business at heart, even though we’re a private limited company now. We have a few machines for the mixing and the frying, and then there’s the packing area where things get bagged up. It is a bit cramped sometimes with all the sacks of flour and oil containers lying around. We don’t have a fancy showroom; it is just a workplace where we get things done. The guys who work here are mostly locals from the Odhav area. We start the batches early in the morning so they can be ready for the distributors by the afternoon. The roads around here are always full of tempos and bikes, so getting the deliveries out can be a bit of a challenge. We’ve had some ups and downs over the years, but we’re still here doing what we do. It’s not always pretty, and sometimes the floors get a bit oily, but we keep things moving. We just focus on making snacks that people will want to buy at the local shops. We just try to keep the quality decent and the orders moving.
