Jay Art Krishna Art Kamal Art

We are located down in the basement of Vijay Plaza, specifically unit number 6. It’s on Kankaria Road, right opposite the Abad Dairy. Being in a basement means it’s a bit cooler during the summer, which is nice. We go by Jay Art, Krishna Art, and Kamal Art. It’s a bit of a combined effort here. The space is filled with equipment and finished pieces. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't looking for the stairs, but once you're down here, it's quite spacious. Kankaria Road is usually buzzing with activity because of the dairy and the lake nearby. We get a lot of noise from the street, but it fades out once you’re inside the basement. We’ve been here for a good many years. The lighting isn't the best, so we have a lot of lamps around the workspace. We don't have a receptionist or anything. You just walk in and one of us will be there at a desk or working on a machine. It’s a very hands-on environment. We do our own cleaning and moving of boxes. It’s just a regular local business. We don't try to make the place look like a gallery. It’s a working shop where we get things made. It’s been our base for a long time and we like the familiar feel of it. We take our lunch breaks together when things aren't too busy in the basement.
