Jagan Nath Dholan Dass has been operating out of 2073, Katra Tobacco in Khari Baoli for quite some time now. If you have ever walked through the narrow lanes of Khari Baoli, you already know how crowded and lively the whole place is. Our shop is tucked away in one of those busy corners. It smells like spices and old wood around here most of the day. We deal with traditional goods and it is a very hands-on kind of business for us. There is no air conditioning or any fancy furniture inside the shop. We sit on the floor or on small wooden stools most of the time. It is a very old-school way of doing things, but it is just how it has always been done in this specific market. We know the other shopkeepers by their names and we see the same faces every morning when we open up. The space is small and every single inch is filled with sacks or old containers. It can be a bit overwhelming for someone who is not used to the constant noise and the heat of the market. We do not have a website or any kind of marketing team. People usually find us because their fathers or grandfathers used to buy from us years ago. We take things one day at a time and try to keep our books in order. It is a simple life in a very busy part of the city. We are just glad to be part of the history of this area.
