Italian Handicrafts is located out in Narol, at Golobar House within the Shivshakti Estate. It’s number 190, if you are looking for the exact spot. We are right on the Bombay Highway, opposite the Evergreen Hotel and Shyam Handicraft. Being near Vijay Transport makes it easy for us to handle shipping, which is good because we have a lot of stuff moving in and out. The estate is a busy industrial area, so there’s always trucks and noise around. Our workshop is where all the making happens. It’s not a polished gallery or anything; it’s a place where people work with their hands. There is sawdust and scraps of material everywhere on the floor. We make various handicraft items, trying to keep things traditional even though the name sounds a bit different. The highway location is practical, though the traffic can be a real headache during peak hours. We’ve been in Narol for quite a bit now. We don't have a big sales team. Most of the time, it’s just us working on the pieces and answering the phone when it rings. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just make things and hope people like them enough to buy them. It’s a dusty, busy place, but it’s where we do our best work. Sometimes we have tea with the guys from the transport company next door to take a break. We stay here until the work for the day is finished.
