If you are coming to see us at International Instruments Industries, look for the Kothari Pole. We are right opposite it on Main Gandhi Road. The building is called Iii House. It’s an old structure, and you can tell by the way the floorboards creak when you walk through the hallway. Miam is a busy area, especially on market days. There’s always someone shouting or a horn honking outside our windows. We’ve been in Iii House for years, and the walls are covered with old calendars and notes we’ve stuck up. It’s not the most modern place, but it’s where we feel at home. We work with instruments all day, so it’s usually quite focused and quiet inside, which is a big contrast to the street outside. Sometimes the dust from Gandhi Road gets in, and we have to spend the morning wiping down the equipment. It’s just part of the routine. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. Usually, if someone walks in, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and says hello. We like it that way. It’s simple and honest. We know the shopkeepers nearby, and we often grab tea from the stall on the corner. Life here is steady. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just show up at Iii House and do our work until it’s time to go.
