Aluminium Industries

Our workshop is in Shed No. 2 at the Tejendra Estate. We are right across the way from Bharat Bobin in the Rakhial area. We work with aluminium, mostly cutting it down to size or making basic frames. The shed is an old industrial space with a high ceiling and a lot of metal scraps lying around on the floor. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s where the work happens. We have a few heavy saws that make a lot of noise when they are running. The air usually smells a bit like metal and oil. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, they just come into the shed and look at what’s on the workbench. It’s a small operation with just a handful of us doing the labor. Rakhial is a busy industrial zone, so there are always trucks and carts moving through the narrow lanes. Sometimes it’s hard to get a delivery vehicle right up to our door. We just focus on getting our orders finished and out to the customers. We don't have a big corporate story or anything. We just know how to work with the metal and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now. It’s just a regular day-to-day job for us. We drink a lot of tea to stay going during the long afternoons when the metal gets hot and the machines are humming.
