India Today Group

The India Today Group office here is at K/8 Kalptaru Flats, which is opposite Ganesh School in Navawadaj, Ahmedabad. The pincode is 380013. It is a very residential setting for a media office. Being right across from a school means it gets quite noisy during the mornings and afternoons when the kids are arriving or leaving. Our office is inside the flats, so it has a very personal, local feel. We don't have a big lobby or security guards at the door like some of the bigger offices. It’s just a flat that we’ve turned into a working space. There are desks squeezed into the rooms and files stacked up on every available surface. It’s the kind of place where you have to move a stack of magazines just to find a place to sit. We spend a lot of our time here tracking stories and talking to people over the phone. Ahmedabad can be very hot, and our little office feels it, even with the fans going. We aren't trying to look like a high-end newsroom. We are just a small team working in Navawadaj, trying to stay on top of everything happening in the city. Most of us have been working together for a long time, so it’s a very informal atmosphere. We just focus on the day-to-day work and don't worry about being fancy. It is a simple setup but it works well for us.
