The shop is over in Govindlal Chambers, right on Mission Road in the Bhadra area. Most people know this spot because it's been around for a good while. We spend a lot of our day sitting behind the glass counters looking at the HMT watches. Some of these models have been around since my father's time, and people still come in asking for the hand-wound ones. The light inside the showroom isn't the brightest, but it works for seeing the small parts. Outside, the road stays pretty busy with traffic and people walking to the nearby offices. We usually open up around ten in the morning after the first rush of the day settles down. It's not a fancy place with big neon signs or anything like that. Just a regular showroom where the shelves are filled with boxes. Sometimes the fan makes a little noise, but you get used to it. We keep the floor swept and try to make sure everything is in its place. People come in, look at a few pieces, maybe talk about how they remember their first watch. It’s a quiet way to spend the day mostly. We have the address written on some old cards if anyone gets lost finding the building. It’s tucked in there near the other businesses. Nothing too complicated about how we do things here. Just showing up and keeping the doors open for whoever stops by looking for a timepiece. We aren't here to change the world, just to sell some watches to folks who still like the mechanical tick of an old HMT.
