Hindumal & Sons

You can find us over at 1240 Thakorvas, which is very close to the Shri Jogmaya Temple. We are right by Madhupura Chowk, a place that is almost always buzzing with people and carts. Hindumal & Sons is a family thing. It’s been passed down and we just keep doing what we’ve always done. The shop is old and the wooden counters have seen better days, but they work just fine for us. We deal with a lot of people every day, from old customers who knew my father to new folks just passing through the chowk. The noise from the temple bells and the street vendors is just part of the background for us now. We don't use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of our notes are still written in hand-bound books. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the stock piled up, but we know where everything is. We start early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. My brother handles the deliveries and I usually stay back to manage the customers who walk in. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. People just know we are here and that we have what they need. It’s a simple life in a busy part of town. We just try to be fair and keep the business going for the next generation. It’s just how we live and work here.
