Himanshu Book Co.

Himanshu Book Co. is located at No-6-7 in the Shri Jayendrapuri Bhavan. Our place is near the Sanyas Ashram in Ellisbridge, right off Ashram Road. It’s a well-known area, so finding us isn't usually too hard for folks who live around here. We have a couple of units, 6 and 7, which gives us a bit of space for all the books we keep. The building itself, Shri Jayendrapuri Bhavan, has a lot of history and other offices in it. Since we are near the ashram, the atmosphere can be a bit more relaxed than the main road outside. Ashram Road is always moving, but once you step into our section of the building, things quiet down a little. We have books piled up on desks and tucked into every corner. It’s a quiet life of sorting through titles and making sure we know where everything is kept. We aren't big on decorations or anything like that; we just have our shelves and our work. Most days are spent talking to people who stop by looking for something specific. We’ve been here in Ellisbridge for a long time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Even so, the shop stays pretty much the same, filled with the same old paper smell and rows of books waiting to be read. It’s a steady kind of work that we do every day.
