Hari Har Pettern Industry

Down in Vatva, at 1321 in Phase-3 of the GIDC, you’ll find our workshop. It’s a place where things are constantly moving. Being in an industrial estate like this means there is always dust and the sound of trucks passing by outside our door. We deal with patterns mostly, so there is a lot of measuring and cutting involved in a normal day. Our space isn't huge, but we make use of every corner we have. The guys have been here for years and they know exactly where every tool sits. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, you leave at the end of the shift with a bit of dirt on your hands, but that’s the reality of a pattern shop. We don’t spend much on decorations or making the office look nice because that’s not what people come here for. They come because they need something specific made and we have the tools to do it. The electricity in Vatva can be a bit temperamental sometimes, so we’ve learned to work around the outages when they happen. It's just part of life here. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when things slow down for a minute. Then it’s back to the benches until the light starts to fade. Hari Har Pettern Industry is just a bunch of us working hard in a busy part of Ahmedabad, trying to get the orders out on time without making any fuss about it.
