We set up shop at Shriji Bhuvan in the Parmanand Society area. It’s pretty close to Raman Nagar here in Maninagar, so it's a familiar neighborhood for most of us who work here. Handicrafts Of India Export Corporation might sound like a big name, but we are really just a group of people handling local goods and sending them out. The office gets a bit dusty with all the packing materials and boxes stacked up near the door. We spend a lot of time checking labels and making sure things are packed tight so they don't break on the road. Maninagar is a busy place, and there is always noise from the street, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Some days are slower than others, which gives us time to clean up the workspace or catch up on some reading. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, we just want to make sure the items we handle get where they need to go in one piece. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and writing out shipping forms by hand sometimes. We’ve been in this building for a while now, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it serves its purpose. If you're looking for us, just head toward Parmanand Society. We're usually there from morning until the sun goes down, just doing our thing.
