Gyscoal Alloys Limited has an office at 10 Uttara Appt, situated on Navjivan Press Road in the Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad. It’s a busy part of the city, and being in an apartment building makes it feel a bit more personal. We are on the tenth floor, so we get a bit of a view of the surrounding streets. Most of what we do here involves managing the alloys side of the business. It’s a lot of paperwork and computer work. The Navjivan Press Road is always full of traffic, so we hear the honking of cars all day long. In Ahmedabad, the heat can be really something else, so we are glad for the fans in the office. We are a small team at this location. We handle the orders and the customer calls. It is not a huge factory floor here; that happens elsewhere. This is where the thinking and the organizing get done. We’ve been at Uttara Appt for a while now, and the neighbors are all used to us. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. Just a simple door with our name on it. We spend our days talking to suppliers and making sure the alloys are moving to where they need to go. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the numbers match up. We just keep it simple and focus on the work each day.
