If you walk down toward the Nehru Bridge corner on Ashram Road, you’ll find us on the ground floor of Sakar 7. We have units A9 and A10. It’s a busy spot with all the people coming off the bridge. The shop is full of bags and containers of different nuts and dried fruits. We spend most of our time weighing things out and putting them into smaller packets. My hands are usually a bit dusty from the almonds or the raisins. We’ve been at this location for a long time. The floor is old but we sweep it every couple of hours. People come in from the heat of Ashram Road looking for something quick. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. The stock speaks for itself when people see it in the glass jars. It gets cramped when a big shipment arrives and we have to find room for all the sacks. We just stack them as high as they can go without falling. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout to hear each other, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We open the shutters early and don't leave until late. It's a steady life, just selling what we have to the people who walk by. It stays busy enough to keep us on our toes.
