We are located at M 40 in the Jay Harikrishnanagar Society, which is quite close to the Sardarnagar Police Station in the Hansol area of Ahmedabad. It is a quiet enough spot most of the time, though the police station nearby keeps things interesting. Being in Gujarat, we deal with a lot of local people who need help with electronics and info-tech solutions. Our setup isn't very big, just a few of us working on computers and circuits most of the day. The society where we are based has a lot of families around, so it feels very much like a neighborhood business rather than some big corporate thing. We started Dupat Infotronics because we liked the technical side of things. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and trying to figure out why a particular piece of software or hardware isn't behaving. It gets dusty in Ahmedabad, so we are always cleaning our equipment. The commute to Hansol is okay for most of us. We have a routine where we start early before the sun gets too hot. Usually, there are a few projects going on at once, so the desks are always a mess with wires and parts. We don't really have a fancy reception or anything like that. People just walk in when they have something to discuss. It’s a practical way to work and it keeps our overheads low while we focus on the jobs.
